‘The Spirit of God Shines in Our Hearts'

Catholic Life

The Year of the Word- God Who Speaks

'Scripture is at the centre of everything the church does.

The word of God shapes our prayer and worship.

The Bible shows us how to understand the world, how we are called to live and relate to each other.'

Christian Meditation

Each day at 1pm all the members of our school meditate. The children will sing and some will use actions at the beginning and end of the meditation. The children will repeat the mantra ‘maranatha’ three times ( which means ‘Come Lord Jesus Come’.) The children will sit quietly, place their hands palms up on their knees and close their eyes, for one minute.

‘Come and See’

For many years, the school used ‘Hear I am’ to deliver religious education. The Archdiocese has introduced an exciting new programme called ‘Come and See’. Resources have been purchased and the programme has been rolled out across the school.

There is a dedicated website which can be accessed here.

Why do we have Catholic Schools?

This was the theme of the Training Day held at Belmont Abbey led by Dom Andrew Berry, a Benedictine Monk.

A copy of his presentation, together with notes and a document  by Mgr Marcus Stock SJ can be downloaded below.
