Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant Level 2/3 (depending on experience/qualifications)

 

Required for 2nd November 2026

Term time only

Permanent/Variable Contract Min 12.5 hours - Max 25 hours per week

Initially 22.75 hours per week

Salary:                               TA L3 – 22.75 hours £13397.48  - £14837.78(SP5)             

                                             TA L2  - 22.75 hours £12982.97- £13702.78 (SP4)

 

Mornings - Monday – Friday

Two afternoons (days to be confirmed)

Five half hour lunch time cover sessions

About the Role

St Francis Xavier’s is a caring and vibrant Catholic primary school rooted in Gospel values. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our committed team, supporting pupils to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

You will work closely with teachers to provide high-quality support that enables every child to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Support pupils individually and in small groups to access learning

· Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources

· Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND

· Promote positive behaviour in line with our relational behaviour policy

· Contribute to pupils’ wellbeing and personal development

· Support classroom organisation and school activities

The Ideal Candidate Will:

· Have experience of working with children (school or similar setting)

· Demonstrate patience, kindness and a nurturing approach

· Be committed to supporting a Catholic ethos

· Show strong communication skills, enthusiasm and a love of learning

· Share our commitment to high expectations for all children

· Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
